SHORT TERM REHABILITATION
Our comprehensive, post-acute rehabilitation program, helps individuals return home following illness or injury. Residents receive one-on-one therapy in our state-of-the art therapy center, where we work to improve function, restore mobility and effectively treat a wide range of conditions, such as orthopedic injuries.
Our experienced joint replacement Physical and Occupational Therapists are specifically trained to address the unique rehabilitation needs of knee, hip, shoulder and ankle joint replacement patients. Our Rehabilitation therapists describe the typical rehabilitation process, offer suggestions for making a safe transition from hospital to home, and answer questions.
Available joint replacement therapy services include:
- customized rehabilitation programs designed to meet a patient’s specific needs, goals and fitness level
- restoring mobility, function, strength and flexibility
- reducing pain and stiffness
- fall prevention and balance
- learning to use adaptive tools to complete daily living tasks
Some of our state of the art equipment includes:
Telemedicine – when a resident is in need of immediate medical care, with the touch of a button, the bedside nurse can conduct a remote consultation. LEARN MORE
Electrical stimulation – uses a gentle electrical current to help increase circulation, stimulate the release of pain relieving endorphins, retrain function movement patterns and decrease muscle disuse atrophy with a focus on improvement in gait, transfers and functional activity performance.
Ultrasound – focuses on the deep heating of muscles, tendons and connective tissue to increase blood flow and tissue extensibility, while reducing pain and inflammation.
Shortwave Diathermy – produces thermal effects that are appropriate for larger joints and surface areas including the neck, lower back, hip and knee. It increases blood flow, treats muscle spasms, joint stiffness and contractures. It is also effective for post-surgical pain, edema and pain management for osteoarthritis.
